Recording Courier Damage

Recording The Fact That Items Have Been Delivered Opened or Damaged

Items delivered to the building Damage or Opened, must be recorded correctly and the tenant informed promptly. If this is not done, claiming on the Courier is going to be difficult.

DeliveryPoD allows staff to record damage using both Text and Photographs, which in turn triggers:

  1. The Damage Report is attached to the Tracking Report. It is marked clearly as Damage on Arrival at Building.

  2. An email is automatically sent to the appropriate member of staff (Mailroom Manager) and possibly the intended recipient.

  3. The appropriate person can obtain a PDF document, that shows the damage (photograph), date & time stamp and all associated text. This can then be emailed to the Courier Responsible as part of any complaint / compensation claim.

The email is important, as with most Courier Claims it is better to notify the Courier straight away.

A separate report is available in DeliveryPoD, that only shows the Courier the information they need (photograph, description, date and time). Further tracking information and who signed for the item is not included as it might be confidential.

DeliveryPoD supports the use of Web Cams to photograph items, with an option to take a photograph file from a separate camera if required.

Web Cams can be used for photographing items delivered by a courier that have been opened or damaged before arrival
